Delmar's Critical Care/Surgical Care Skills CD-ROM is an interactive learning environment that leads the learner action-by-action through 50 critical care/surgical care nursing skills. These skills include: blood administration, advanced respiratory, tubes, ventilation, central lines, pre/postoperative care, dressings, and wound care. Following the five step nursing process, each skill emphasizes Assessment, Diagnoses, Planning/Implementation, and Evaluation. Outcomes, documentation, and client teaching are also emphasized in this rich learning environment. It includes real world situations in various health care environments, including gender, age, and culture issues, that provide students with the clinical experiences they may encounter in their career.
