This first retrospective of the 30-year career of artist Damián Ortega (1967) in Mexico, his native country, and in Latin America, is a careful review of the work of one of the contemporary artists with the greatest international presence. It is composed of more than 80 works, including installations, sculptures, photographs, films and textiles, produced from the 1990s to the present. Through them, an ironic look at the conditions of production and consumption of corn is extended and is structured in a non-chronological journey through three curatorial axes: harvesting, assembling and collapsing, three elements of a plastic and conceptual nature that maintain a skepticism towards the idea of progress in Mexico.
