Gatekeeper Pippin reports hollow-eyed specters and something hiding in the suit of armor at Forestbrook, but Enforcer Mick insists there’s always a logical explanation, until a boy with a kitten send the two into the past to prevent the slaughter of this sole Gatekeeper and safeguard Pippin and her role. When the boy with a kitten requests help from Pippin and Tilly’s daughter Starren, time twists like a kitten’s yarn, and Mick believes the threats to Arcan history and his Gatekeeper. Tilly and Pippin are determined to protect their children and their Enforcer, while Mick sets up a rescue with a sting operation from an unexpected source using croquet moves to orchestrate his Pack. Pippin, however, complicates his efforts until she learns who she can trust to salvage the past and safeguard those she loves.
