The stagecoach run between Nevada & California travels through perilous country. It takes a special breed of man to ride shotgun on these dangerous journeys: someone willing to brave harsh weather & rugged terrain to protect passengers & precious cargo against frequent attacks from outlaws & hostile Indians. Though his mother named him George Paxton, his friends & enemies alike know him as Montana Slim, a rangy cowpoke who likes the freewheeling lifestyle of shotgun riding just fine. Somewhere in the wilds of Montana he has a little spread, & maybe one day he'll make good on his promise to settle down there. For now, he'll stick to the footloose job that satisfies his taste for adventure & his need for freedom. But the sun might be about to set on that fiercely independent life that Slim so loves. At the end of a particularly tough run to Reno, Nevada, Slim meets Julie Conklin. Julie is a beautiful & headstrong girl who might just have the right combination of gumption & glamour to rope him in. Lustily flavorsome, high-spirited tale of the Old West full of vivid characters, heart-pounding action & earthy romance.
