
This book covers the period when Oroville was still Ophir, and before it became a recognized city. It encompasses historical and other such interesting sites as Bidwell's Bar, Mountain House, Marysville, Quincy and Rich's Bar, along with other mining towns and camps. It is a fictional novel based upon the growth of pioneer towns during the Gold Rush Era and encompasses much of the exciting lifestyles in which early pioneers were involved. Guidry when he comes to her aid in an Indian attack, in which her husband is killed. Luckily they are able to join a wagon train heading for the Gold Rush country, and along the way fall in love. But when they reach California, the two have a falling out through a misunderstanding that separates them for many years. Eventually fate brings them together again in an almost devastating encounter.
