In some far-flung corner of the cosmos, habits of local physics may differ from the laws we know. No big surprise then, when one day some lawless, novelty-seeking thing from out there finds a way to Earth. Six years after comet Lihtan swerves past planet Earth... Doc had thought her battles with the revolting Uni invader were behind her. But now, in defense of her beleaguered 9th Amendment Republic, Doc Holiday is asked to volunteer--yet again--to run battlefield rescue operations within the comet-affected zone, home to the young Republic.
