The book Landslide Research - The DST Initiatives is a collection of over 21 scientific articles that cover various aspects of landslides, including earth system processes, hazard zonation mapping, geotechnical investigations, and satellite-based monitoring. These articles are the result of studies conducted by academics, researchers, and research institutions funded by the NRDMS/DST in different geological provinces of the Indian subcontinent. The articles provide a comprehensive overview of earth system processes, such as post-collision tectonics of the Shillong Plateau, as well as specific studies of landslides in various regions, including the Churachandpur-Mao fault, Tirumalai hills, Western Ghats of South India, Northeastern region, Jakhri Landslides, Munnar (Kerala), Nainital and Mansadevi landslides, Kailasaur (Himalayas), Rawana slides (Himachal Pradesh), Mizoram region, Malin landslides (Maharashtra), and the Nilgiris. The articles also cover techniques for diagnosing active movements and optimizing methods for landslide hazard zonation mapping.
