This book documents British women's attitudes to work and home in the 1980s and how they have changed since the Second World War. The relevant literature is reviewed and the result of recent surveys of women's attitudes are cited, including rare detail form the large-scale 'Women and Employment Survey' as well as results from the 'British Social Attitude Surveys', which have relevance to academic study and practical policy-making.
