Author Description

Strange Totems explores the relationship between the spirit of the city and symbols of power in a modern metropolis. The transformation of the environment and the lack of connection to nature is an integral theme in this collection of work. This haiku is presented in three languages: English, Te Reo Maori, and Japanese. Poet Doc Drumheller was born in South Carolina in the USA but has lived in New Zealand for more than half his life and currently resides in Lyttelton. He teaches creative writing at the School for Young Writers.
