Author Description

Adnan, a young man from Aleppo, is bombed out of his house, losing his family and being wounded. He sets off towards Europe with nothing but the clothes he stands up in. His journey to Istanbul and subsequently to New Zealand, where he studies architecture and meets his future wife, is a journey of healing, both physically and mentally. His name means Settler and he does eventually find peace.
