
In 2002 an international conference organised by the SCIEM 2000 programme (Synchronization of the Civilisations in the Eastern Mediterranean in the 2nd Millennium BC) was held in Vienna. This volume includes seven papers from the conference which explore new research and new sources of evidence for illuminating the chronology of the Dark Age period, beginning after the fall of the Babylon I dynasty. The contributors examine evidence from Mesopotamia and neighbouring areas of Anatolia and Syria, in particular taking a philological approach. Contributors:
