Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject Economics - Foreign Trade Theory, Trade Policy, grade: B, McGill University, course: China's Investment and Trade Governance Regime, language: English, abstract: This paper deals with the analysis of different kind of possibilities for China to be in a trade relationship with the Trans-Pacific-Partnership (TPP) member states. In the first part the basic concepts of China's economy (A.) and the TPP Agreement (B.) are going to be outlined. Taking these into account, a possible membership of China in the TPP (C.) will be discussed critically and the important challenges and opportunities of this membership will be identified. On top of that, suggestions regarding China's behaviour will be made. Finally, the results will be summarized (D.).
