From School Library Journal PreS-Gr 2--Marie Hall Ets's delightful tale of a young Mexican boy (Viking Penguin, 1963) has been translated into Spanish while retaining the original illustrations. Readers/listeners follow Gilberto as he treats the wind like a living entity, and includes it in his daily activities. The translation aptly captures the flowing language and gentle spirit of the original book, as it portrays the friendship between the boy and the wind. What the illustrations lack in color, they make up for in simplicity of line and implied motion. The audiocassette includes instructions and the entire text is read in clear, well-pronounced, and easily understood Spanish. Side one of the tape has page-turn signals. This quality production would be useful in collections needing additional Spanish language materials.
