Author Description

As prelude, chapter 1 presents the experiences of the Korean community before the end of World War II. Chapter 2 to 10 deal with various aspects and issues of the current Korean Community in Los Angeles: demography, work patterns, business life, family, perceived problems, college life, church life, organizations, and politics. The concluding chapter examines the status of Korean-American studies in the context of race relations paradigm. A comprehensive bibliography on Korean-American studies is appended as a reference for those students interested in Koreans in America.
