Author Description

This document mandates standard lightning protection, transient protection, electrostatic discharge (ESD), grounding, bonding and shielding configurations and procedures for new facilities, facility modifications, facility upgrades, new equipment installations, and new electronic equipment used in the National Airspace Systems (NAS). It provides requirements for the design, construction, modification or evaluation of facilities and equipment. This document does not apply to existing facilities unless the facility is undergoing upgrade or receiving new electronic equipment. This version of the document applies to equipment and facilities and procurement initiated after the effective date of this document.
