This book is designed for personal and small-group Bible studies. The goal is to help the students understand the meaning of faith as used in the New Testament and show them how they, too, can live by faith. The authors of Hebrews and James use the story of Abraham sacrificing his promised son, Isaac, on Mt. Moriah to define faith and how it is lived out. The philosopher and theologian Søren Kierkegaard also used the account when he defined faith in his book Fear and Trembling, written in 1843. Although they never knew each other, across the North Sea was a man, George Müller, who lived by faith and trusted God to provide for the orphans under his care. This book weaves Søren Kierkegaard's definition of faith, using Abraham's example of sacrificing his beloved son Isaac with George Müller's practice of faith. We find that Müller lived faith as Kierkegaard defined it. We also weave into the study the life of George Müller in the novel "Let the Children Come: The Life of George Müller."
