The psychological autopsy -- a forensic examination of a deceased victim of an alleged homicide or suicide -- is a growing area of forensics. However, there has been no literature showing research that validates the approach and establishes standards, although such standards have been called for by the APA. Psychological Autopsies: Science and Practice fills this need. But it does even more. This book also demonstrates methods of doing a psychological autopsy and training forensic psychologists in the practice. Based on the research of the authors, it provides a review of existing body of literature concerning PAs and suggests procedural standards and guidelines for conducting a PA.
