Innovation of technology changes the way of information delivery and information behavior. Thus academic libraries are challenged to adapt to the changes in their working environment and take proactive actions to prove their value. In this paper, two cases: the Hong Kong University Library (HKUL) and Nanyang Technological University Library (NTUL) are studied and analyzed to verify where the challenges introduced in previous literature matches with the challenges academic libraries face in the real world. By comparison and analyzing the challenges, this paper hopes to provider readers alist of key challenges in academic library and introduce possible ways to solves these problems so as to help academic librarians take effective and proactive actions to the challenges.
