Investigation into the formation and impact of the Australia Council's Community Arts Program. Traces the history of the community arts as an administrative and funding category of the Australian Council and examines the development of the diverse range of community arts in practise. Includes a bibliography and an index. The author teaches cultural studies in the school of sociology at the University of NSW.
