The world of Chinese finance and investment is explored in this collection of papers arranged in four sections that consider the financial markets, developments in the stock markets, foreign direct investment (FDI), and business environment and policy issues. The papers include discussion of the stability of the Chinese currency, the problems and accomplishments in banking reforms, non- bank financial institutions, the A- and B-share equity markets, the link between China's FDI and the economy, and Hong Kong and Taiwan's role in China's FDI.
