Annotation In the future, almost all appliances near us will contain computers and will be connected to the Internet. These appliances may change our lives dramatically. One of the most important issues related to building future embedded systems is to reduce the development cost. However, traditional software platforms, such as traditional embedded operating systems, will not be able to meet the goal. WSTFES 2003 covers interesting topics ranging from embedded and real-time systems to ubiquitous computing.
