At present, the relationship between humans and pets has attracted more and more attention from the public and academic circles. This article summarizes the sociological research about the relationship between humans and pets, and explores the issue of people's fascination with pets through in-depth interviews and literature research methods. This article believes that the attractiveness of pets to people comes from cross-species emotion. Cross-species emotion is formed in the cross-species interaction between humans and pets, and its core experience and constituent dimensions are mainly reflected in the following aspects.Between the familiar and the unfamiliar, people feel the connectedness and the novelty at the same time. People experience harmony in the similarity between humans and pets, feel intimacy in close interactions, feel love in pet partiality, and discover the fun in the pet's confusing behavior. They satisfy the curiosity for knowledge in amateur pet behavior research, open up new areas of life with pets as the starting point.Between domestication and wild nature, people gain self-realization and vitality at the same time. People feel the sense of responsibility in the appearance design and behavior training of pets, gain the feeling of being needed in pet care, be "domesticated" by pets to become better selves. They also experience self-compensation in observing the wild nature of pets, relax in playing with pets, and think about the effect of social structural factors on self.Between humanity and animality, people experience similarity and authenticity at the same time. When interacting with pets, people not only feel pets wisdom, feel the empathy between humans and pets, and gain emotional support from pets, but also experience the pets beyond-human advantages in getting along with pets, learn how pets express their emotions, and experience the mystery and fate of human-pet relationships.
