Extensive research on the effectiveness of sixth form education and whether post-16 education was being provided at a reasonable cost is the central basis of this publication. The report is set out in two parts: the first part covers the main findings of the research; the second part illustrates four case studies of sixth form provision in mixed comprehensive schools.
