
In Romans 6 we read that because of what Christ did, we too may "walk in newness of life." What does it mean to "walk" in the newness of life? How do we walk "in the newness" of life? Who is the life? What's the opposite of walking in the newness of life? Scripture explains Scripture. Walking in the Life starts by knowing Jesus and what He did on the cross - for you. Jesus is the Christ, God's Son, and the Son has life in Himself. He is the life; He gives life, and that life is eternal life. The death that He died, He died to sin once for all. We were crucified with Him, and we have been made alive together with Him. By grace we have been saved. He purchased newness of life. Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh, with its passions and desires, died to self, walk according to the Spirit, and live according to the will of God. The Spirit of Truth guides us into all truth. We walk in the truth, in His ways as children of light, built up in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, who gives life. We put on the Lord Jesus Christ in the likeness of God, created in righteousness and holiness. His love is perfected in us. We obey His voice. We trust in Him and put our hope in Him. We find wisdom in Him and gain understanding. He gives life to our soul and grace to our neck.
