Both are used as a main reference for training school teachers at the National Institute of Education, the only teachers' training centre in Singapore. The series has been updated to follow the 2007 syllabus, implemented in schools in Singapore. Each chapter draws from the experience and teaching materials of the various authors in this volume, and is well researched, clearly written and easy to understand. About the Author Dr Lee Peng Yee is an Associate Professorial Fellow with the Mathematics and Mathematics Education academic group at the National Institute of Education and and former Vice President of International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) (1987-1994). Author of The Integral: An Easy Approach after Kurzweil and Henstock (2000), Lee has research interests in real analysis. Dr Lee Ngan Hoe is an Assistant Professor with the Mathematics and Mathematics Education academic group at the National Institute of Education. A co-author of Shaping Maths, Lee's research covers primary and secondary mathematics teaching. He is also interested in the social aspects and impact of mathematics education, such as teacher training, the teaching of thinking, and the role of the family in mathematics learning.
