This is the first in-depth review of the epidemiology of the various leukemias by cell types. The author focuses on the four major leukemia subtypes in a critical discussion of genetic and familial factors; reported leukemia clusters; and the relationship between other malignancies, their treatments, and the subsequent development of leukemia. Environmental influences--drugs, occupational hazards, and radiation therapy--are also discussed.
