This book introduces classification and treatment technologies of food waste and then illustrates mechanisms of different typical aerobic fermentation processes of food waste from organic carbon component conversion and microbial succession. Then it presents the preparation and characterization of the synergistic soil conditioner derived from food waste. Finally, it demonstrates how the synergistic soil conditioner is applied into the improvement of organic-matter-impoverished soil as well as the secondary salinization of greenhouse soil, improving effect, change of soil property, and microbial succession. The techniques, methods and products introduced in this book will be a valuable reference for the research and practice on disposal of food waste, which can help to the recycling of it to produce high-quality soil conditioner for soil amelioration.
