This book centres on Emperor Zhao Ji, who was a master in birdandflower painting and established the Songdynasty Imperial Painting Academy. It interprets the interaction or teacherstudent relationship between the emperor and other painters and introduces the historical development of Chinese birdandflower painting. Wellillustrated, this book is composed of two volumes respectively for research and appreciation. The first volume is coauthored by Yang Dong and Yu Hui; the second is printed in highresolution to present a panorama of the masterpiece.
