One often meets the prejudiced view that geometric constructivist art is too predictable, cold and lacking in vitality. To do away with these misconceptions the Arithmeum Bonn presents geometric constructivist pictures in all their diversity and color. The many different compositional styles of artists like Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, Ilya Bolotowsky, Adolf Richard Fleischmann, Pier Dorazio, Verena Loewensberg, Walter Dexel, Leo Leuppi, Johannes Itten and Richard Mortensen, to name but a few, allow the viewer not only to revel in the wealth of their colors and forms, no, they demonstrate much more, namely that geometric constructivist art is not at all without sensuousness. Whoever engages in the contemplation of these paintings will discover a subtle sensuousness behind their superficial stringency and their geometric shapes, which is unequalled in many different directions of art.
