Get it out to get some clarity. Brain Dumping is a therapeutic technique you can do pretty much anywhere you have a piece of paper, pen, and a few minutes. Two Primary Methods of Brain Dumping: 1). Dump anything that comes to your mind on any topic, or 2). Dump anything that comes to your mind about a specific topic. Process: Give yourself permission to write messily, make spelling errors, and write incomplete sentences. Brain Dumping is not about perfection. In fact, you can do yourself and your process a disservice by paying too much mind to those details in this exercise. Why Brain Dump: The purpose of Brain Dumping is to get the abstract thoughts circling the brain out into a concrete place (the paper). With the thoughts now in the concrete you can begin to make some sense of them. When your thoughts are outside of the brain it automatically creates a new perspective. You are essentially looking inside your brain through the words on the page.
