The 466 papers are grouped as follows: Chapter 1: Materials Engineering and Technologies of Processing; Chapter 2: Construction and Environmental Engineering; Chapter 3: Mechatronics, Control and Automation, Measurement and Measuring Equipment; Chapter 4: Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing; Chapter 5: Data Processing, Computer and Information Technologies; Chapter 6: Engineering Management and Product Design. Volume one of the three-volume set from the May 2012 conference presents recent research on intelligent material engineering, processing technologies, construction applications, and environmental engineering. The second volume focuses on mechatronics and control systems, and volume three contains the papers addressing data processing, information technologies, engineering management, and product design. Three papers from the China University of Mining & Technology propose a time synchronization system for coal mine power supply, calculate voltage sag propagation through transformers, and simulate laminar flow cooling during hot strip steel rolling. Other topics of the 466 papers include the design of past Olympic torches, plane processing of sapphire corundum crystals, an adaptive KLT algorithm for hand gesture tracking, and vibration analysis of high-speed railway slab tracks.
