As part of a project on financial abuse of older people, this report looks at unintended or deliberate financial mismanagement. It examines good practice in asset management, the causes of unintended mismanagement by older people and their families, and deliberate mismanagement, exploitation, and financial abuse by carers, family members, and service professionals. The report aims to identify patterns of abuse and any opportunities for intervention or prevention. This is the fifth report of the Protecting Elders Assets Study (PEAS): Ethical Management of Older Persons' Financial Assets (2009-2011).
