He holds the CPA Professorship in Accounting established by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC). After receiving a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, he articled at PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently earned his doctorate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago in 1999.
