Originally designed to appeal to children, this musical seems to have an equal fascination for people of all ages; therefore, it is recommended for all groups. It's about two dolls named Betty and Billy Blue-Jean, who are enjoying life in a doll house when suddenly one of their friends is arrested and taken to the (sigh) Concentration Campus. It's a dreadful institution where dolls who don't study their lessons are sent, and it is supervised by the mean old Skoolies. In their attempts to rescue their friends, Billy and Betty Blue-Jean are assisted by a colorful assortment of dolls and toys, including a stuffed horse named Pal-o-Mine, a toy pink elephant that turned blue with sadness because her ears are so large, a wobbly spider…but there are villains in the story, too: The Skoolies, a magic witch, Trash Tramps, Pious Pirates, and the Rooster-That-Crows-at-Five. Kit Carter's memorable, singable music is an integral part of the fun, color, and gaiety of this happy show.
