Lithic analysis--the study of stone tools--is at the core of archaeology, but until now there has been no broad synthesis of the various methodologies it encompasses. Answering a critical need in the field, this book provides a comprehensive and critical integration of the various approaches to lithic analysis, combining current research from two well-known researchers with complementary strengths (Dibble studies Old World tools, while Shott's expertise is in New World lithics).
