2020, Regardless of its political controversy, COVID-19 is currently an issue being dealt with globally. Just as the correct allocation of resources and preventative measures are essential to this ongoing fight, conducting research to better understand the help the world is also crucial in saving lives and bettering global communities. Because of our interest and passion for research, We felt an urge to create change in the state of this current world with our own skills. This year, Hyun Min Kim researched 'Creation and Use of a Coronavirus Simulation for Spread Analysis in a Closed Environment' Inspired by MIT Professor Henry Winston's 6.034 courses on Artificial Intelligence, he conducted a study with a custom simulation in efforts to understand how combinations of precautionary measures could impact the rate of spread within a closed community. Another aspect of this pandemic he tackled was regarding the transition to in-person learning. When schools were planning their transition back to in-person learning from e-learning, making the classroom safe was a hotly debated topic. His approach to this problem was creating a tool to minimize student to student contact in hallways while considering the transmission of the coronavirus. Aside from research regarding the pandemic, He also delved into various subject matters. He coded and deployed a tool to help students visualize and memorize sorting algorithms and also created simulations for a four-way intersection to analyze the efficiency of traffic flow. And, Rishikesh Nair researched like this 'Effects of Humectant and Food Waste on Soil Moisture Retention and Absorption.' And, other students researched like these ' The Efficiency of Various De-Icing Agents on Ice Cubes'. And then, 'The Effect of Various Support Groups on Illinois Inmates.' 'Modern Stress Factors and Correlation to Adolescent Eating Habits.' etc.
