
This edition of the magna photographic event that included more than 250 expositions in diverse cities of Mexico and the United Status (Fotoseptiembre USA-SAFOTO) brought together the best photographs of the 1960's and 1970's, as well as images of Mexican colonial architecture, a 40-year retrospective of Swiss photojournalist Rene Burri, historic events and numerous photographic works. The event was organized following 2 main nucleus: to commemorate the I Coloquio Latinoamericano de Fotografía (1977-1978) throughout the exhibition "Revelación, Revuelta y Ficción Hecho en Latinoamérica" (Revelation, Revolt and Fiction Made in Latin America) presenting a selection of images of the Latin American collection created by the Consejo Mexicano de Fotografía in the late 1970's and early 1980's. And secondly it organized the forum "Perspectivas: Fotografía y diversidad en América Latina" (Perspective: Photography and Diversity in Latin America) that congregated photographers, critics and researchers that debated on the present situation of photography in the continent.
