From Library Journal This is an anthology of plays from the theater of images: avant garde experiments in theatrical form intended to stretch the limits of stage vocabulary and the imagination of the audience. Unfortunately, these plays seem to be divorced completely from both stages and audiences. Elizabeth Wray's two one-acters, "Border" and "Forecast, a Fable," are the best of the collection and seem to be genuinely successful experiments in form. The first is an intense creation of place and mood; the second is a prophetic statement about the indomitable power of the human spirit. The overall impression created by these plays is of a claustrophobic world populated with words rather than people or ideas. Not recommended. Thomas E.
