Erika Jones has always been independent and able to provide for herself and her six-year-old daughter. When she loses her job, she is faced with the reality of how she will maintain her household without financial means. She surprisingly runs into an old boyfriend, Ricky Johnson, who gives here the opportunity to make money, but unfortunately, not the honest American way. In her decision to get involved with Ricky, she quickly discovers that everything that glitters is certainly not gold. Erika begins to make easy money, but learns that there is a price to pay when you play the game.
