Describing the mathematical evolution of a chronic disease, this book concentrates on the identification of different cancer types. The author defines chronic (as opposed to acute) diseases, compares their development when controlled and uncontrolled, and discusses various models appropriate for different diseases. Among the diseases modelled are twenty different lung cancers, cervical and breast cancers, and tuberculosis. This book is for all those involved in cancer research. A second volume is planned which will mathematically model the effects of medical intervention.
