Freelance insurance investigator Jake Dekker stands to make one hundred thousand dollars if he can prove that Walter Thoren, model citizen, killed himself. Thoren, wealthy and eminently respectable - died in a car crash only a few days after his huge life insurance policy came into effect. The Guaranty Life Insurance Co have hired Dekker to establish suicide before the widow's suit for payment comes to trial.
