This volume discusses the early Dravidian architecture of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh (Upper Dravidadesh) as developed under the aegis of the early Chalukyas, the Rashtrakutas and their dependent dynasties. Like the previous volume in the series, part 2 contains a carefully written text by noted authorities on Indian architecture, divided into 13 chapters. About 80 drawings and 656 photographic illustrations, together with 5 site maps, elucidate and support the text.
