The fifth edition of this basic text has been comprehensively revised to incorporate changes in the law up to 1980. In particular, it includes changes in English Law regarding Muslim immigrants, new laws as a consequence of the formation of Bangladesh, and a new appendix containing the complete text of the Pakistan Orders of 1979, which have far-reaching implications for the introduction of Islamic law in Pakistan and which could influence juridical decisions in other countries.
