Author Description

For one-semester, junior/senior-level courses in Scientific Computing and Numerical Analysis in the departments of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical and Natural Sciences, and Engineering. In this succinct, introductory text, topics basic to numerical analysis are developed in concert with the fundamentals of MATLAB, and applications of them are included in textual materials and a variety of exercises. It encourages students to understand the analysis and procedure through their own MATLAB programming and to develop expertise both for using powerful MATLAB tools effectively and for interpreting numerical or graphical results.
