
Highlights the accomplishments of Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry (ATSDR) in FY 2000 & shows the breadth of ATSDR's programs & the advances in public health that occurred during the year. The ATSDR is the lead public health agency responsible for implementing the health-related provisions of CERCLA (also known as Superfund). ATSDR's primary goals are: to identify people at health risk because of their exposure to uncontrolled hazardous substances (HS) in the environ.; to evaluate relationships between HS in the environ. & adverse human health outcomes; & to intervene to eliminate exposure of health concern & reduce or prevent harmful health effects related to release of HS in the environ.
