Author Description

The exhibition is one of the hghlights of the Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture and is a joint project of the Turkish ministry of Culture and Tourism and Qatar Museums. The collection consists of not only pearls but also shells, tiaras, lockets, necklaces and brooches, mostly from the Gulf region. The most ancient piece of the exhibition is a bracelet dating back to the 3rd century, while the most contemporary one is a necklace called Frozen", designed by German-Vietnamese artist Sam Tho Duong in 2011."
