This book is drawn from eleven years of experience in organizing on hunger. It is meant to assist the many committed volunteers organizing across the country. Although directed to Christians organizing on hunger, this book also should be useful to Christians organizing on other social justice concerns. Many of the techniques and approaches for starting and maintaining a group, public speaking, lobbying elected leaders, and using the media hold true no matter what issue is addressed. It should also be helpful for organizers who do not come from a faith perspective, but work extensively within Christian communities.
