Retired English teacher Tirzzy Quizenberry discovers a body at an old abandoned house. In spite of having taught nearly everyone in town, Tirzzy doesn't recognize the young female victim. Still, she's immediately certain who the murderer is. The police are sceptical - but Tirzzy knows what she knows, and she's determined to know more. With the help of her next-door neighbor Velma, and Julian, a giant on a motorcycle, Tirzzy intends to prove that Mr. Mayor is, indeed, a horror. And then she finds another dead body - in her own kitchen...
