
On Monday, September 3, the state's leading restaurateurs and chefs will gather at the MCA Cafi at Circular Quay to find out who has won and lost the coveted chef's hats awarded in The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008. The chef's hats awards recognise the finest eateries according to the now-famous one, two and three hat system. The awards include Restaurant of the Year, Best New Restaurant, the Vittoria Coffee Chef of the Year, the St George Service Excellence Award, and The Sydney Morning Herald Professional Excellence Award and The Kemenys Sommelier Award, as well as a new award, The Kemenys Wine List of the Year. Along with a review and score, each listing includes important details such as the quality of the wine list and BYO policy, as well as the website, cost of dishes, whether the restaurant is child and wheelchair friendly, and the occasional useful tip, such as how to get discount parking.
