As pressure mounts for real change in South Africa, and the prospects for the demise of the apartheid order become more likely, the existing laws are coming under stress. This book, the first in an annual series, reviews changes and developments in two key areas of social justice, namely human rights and labor relations. The contributors summarize the pertinent legal principles in existence at the beginning of 1989, and examine legal and socio-political changes over the past year.
